Because art usually mirrors real life, the women in the
movies portray the variety of important roles that women play in
our world, in addition to the great role of motherhood. Imagine a culture that oppresses women, where they cannot
read or write, where their independence is locked up by removing
freedoms that women in the movies enjoy.
If this were the case, imagine, too, how the art of
motion pictures would be a medium that does not include the
presence of women. Fortunately,
this would only be in our imagination but it would make an
interesting movie.
