In
August 2007 Matthew Macfadyen and Death at a Funeral movie
opened. Macfadyen plays the role of one of the sons who
prepares for his father's funeral. His wife in real life,
Keeley Hawes, plays his other half. You get the
opportunity to see both of them at work, and how very
professional they are together working.
This movie
predominantly is located in one place--the house where the
funeral is scheduled and where all the comic situations of the
characters unravel. What goes on in the study is very
funny, especially when Andy Nyman's character must come out with
that memorable smile and tell Macfadyen what happened.
The movie
doesn't rely on special effects. The only "special
effect" is the fiance stark naked and the
"Valium" that forces the audience to imagine the
"special effects."
Macfadyen's
eulogy toward the end is beautifully acted.
