Hugh
Grant has found an acting niche. When an actor discovers
where he's good, that's fortunate, and for Hugh Grant, it seems
the romantic comedy is the niche where many audiences like to
see him. Many actors don't even get a chance to have a
"niche."
Excelling in
romantic comedies does not fit everyone, and it has been said by
filmmakers as well as actors, that it is the kind of acting that
isn't that easy to do.
One excellent
Hugh Grant movie is Notting
Hill with Julia
Roberts. He is a travel bookstore
owner who is making a clueless customer (who is asking for
literary classics) to leave, while Roberts, the movie star
actress, enters the store. What happens from there is fun
to watch, especially if you are in the mood for something
lighthearted, thanks to the story. Also, what makes it "believable" is Roberts,
and how her acting is convincing, especially in the last scene with
Grant in the bookstore.
