You can see Eric Bana in the great movie,
Munich. You’ve
seen him as Hector in Hercules and as the Hulk, but your time
won’t be wasted watching him in Munich.
He has many, strong scenes in this movie, as strong as
any actor working today. Watch
Munich and you’ll find it hard to disagree that Bana is
excellent in this movie.
Whatever country we reside in, it is safe
to say we can all find peace in a scene that Bana illustrates in
the movie. When he
hears his daughter’s voice for the first time, he shows his
strong emotions, and this becomes even more meaningful as he
finds himself going insane and paranoid for what he is doing.
Another important scene is the dialogue
between Bana and the “Arab assassin” who stands on the
stairs as he shares his point of view with Bana, not aware that
Bana is fighting for the “other side.” When the camera takes a few seconds to show the moment the
Arab Assasin finally knows the truth about Bana, it is a great
moment, a nucleus of the tension in the movie.
Afterwards, the movie delves more into Bana’s own,
personal tension.
Politics are politics, but put that aside,
and this movie excels in joining actual events with fiction for
a story that’s worth watching.
Also, if you are a Steven Spielberg fan,
and you’ve watched many of his movies, you can quickly see how
Spielberg continues to challenge himself.
This is evident of the fact that he goes from E.T. to
Munich.
Blockbuster or not, Munich is a great movie
and Bana is great as the lead actor.
